Beer Companies get EcoFriendly
Anheuser-Busch, the makers of Budweiser and Michelob, have recently taken an environmental pledge “to continually seek to operate more efficiently and to maintain our quality standards, while considering our environmental impact in order to be better stewards of the world in which we live.”
One of the ways that Anheuser-Busch is cleaning up their act environmentally is with energy usage. Eight percent of the energy used in their operations comes from renewable sources. They also have an award-winning Bio-Energy Recovery System (BERS) that harnesses renewable energy from their brewing process wastewater.
One of the things that MillerCoors is doing to clean up their act environmentally is water use reduction.
The steps taken by beer companies to improve the environment are commendable but more ways have to be find to make businesses eco-friendly.
